Karen Deutsch is the Chief Marketing Officer for Government Programs at UnitedHealthcare, a division of UnitedHealth Group, where she leads strategic marketing initiatives for one of the largest providers of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Medicaid, and Part D plans in the United States. Based in Minnetonka, Minnesota, Karen brings over three decades of experience in consumer marketing, brand strategy, and integrated communications.
Before joining UnitedHealthcare in 2022, Karen held senior leadership roles at several major organizations. She served as Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Marketing at U.S. Bank, where she was instrumental in driving customer engagement and digital transformation. Prior to that, she held multiple strategic roles at Target, including Senior Director of Creative Strategy & Planning. Earlier in her career, she worked with The Coca-Cola Company, building her expertise in brand development and consumer insights.
Karen is known for her ability to blend data-driven decision-making with creative storytelling, helping to build trust and loyalty among diverse consumer populations—especially within the aging and underserved communities that UnitedHealthcare serves through its government programs.
She is also actively involved in community and industry initiatives, including serving on the Board of Directors for UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation, YMCA of the North, and her past service on the board of The BrandLab, a nonprofit focused on increasing diversity in the marketing and advertising industries.
