Brian Donnelly is the Chief Commercial Officer at Ancestry, where he has full P&L responsibility leading global marketing and drives growth across Ancestry’s subscription services and consumer products, including AncestryDNA. He is responsible for shaping and executing the company’s marketing strategy, building its category-defining global brand, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Donnelly’s team focuses on driving customer acquisition, retention, and engagement across all markets and product lines.

Donnelly joined Ancestry in 2021 as Senior Vice President and General Manager of AncestryDNA, with his role expanding to oversee the company’s International business in 2022 prior to assuming the Global CCO position in 2023. Prior to Ancestry, Donnelly held global leadership roles in commercial strategy and marketing at various market-leading companies including Amazon, Illumina, and GlaxoSmithKline, with a track record of developing high performing teams, delivering sustainable revenue growth, and developing growth strategies and successful marketing campaigns.

Donnelly serves on multiple boards and is an investor and advisor to several startups. He holds a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from Elon University and earned both an MBA and JD from Rutgers University.
